Be dazzled by the Vinicunca Mountain, also known as Rainbow Mountain, on this full-day adventure through the Peruvian Andes.

Explore the colorful landscape of Rainbow Mountain on a Full-Day tour, guided hiking trip from Cusco, and discover glacier-capped peaks, wildlife, and views across the Cordillera Vilcanota mountain range.

Be collected at your accommodation in Cusco around 4:30-5-00 AM. Travel about 1 hour 45 minutes to the Cusipata community and stop for breakfast.

Start the trek and over two hours enjoy amazing landscapes with alpaca and llama herds, the Ausangate Mountain, many red mountains, and traditional local houses. The rainbow mountains are one of the spectacular places of the Vilcanota mountain range. The natural coloration is due to the presence of sedimentary stones in erosion. The impressive thing is how the stones have been formed to form a set of seven colors.

Reach the rainbow mountains at 5,020 meters (16,466 foot) and have time to explore the area and take photographs. Spend between 30 minutes and one hour here, depending on your trekking speed and the weather conditions.

The return hike takes two hours. At the Quesiuno community, take transportation to the Hanchipacha community, where you will have lunch. Then be driven to Cusco and dropped off at Regocijos Square, which is two blocks from the Main Square.

• It is recommended that visitors should be reasonably "active" for this activity. If you want to avoid part of the trek/walk horses can be rented directly to the community people. Important: Any tour operator offer horses services. Horses can be privately directly with locals. Horses will take visitors 200 meters from the top, the rest of the clim need to be finished by walk. Horses Price: 40 PEN per journey (go or back). Only is accepted.

• The walk takes about 3 hours
• Path is mostly flat. Near the top it is very steep

The departure time will be at 5:00am. The pick up at your hotel will be between 4.30 and 5.00am. You will receive a confirmation email to confirm the tour and times.

After the tour you will be dropped off at your hotel in Central Cusco or near Cusco Main Square. You can ask to your guide at the end of the tour where you want to be dropped off.

This tour takes place in sunny or rainy / cold or warm weather. We suggest to visitors to check weather conditions on the month or day they book their activity

The optional horse ride is not included and it is optional. These can be paid on the spot. The cost is 40 soles.
